About us

How did we get here?

There’s 3 roads that led to the start of We Are All Marketing.

Firstly, after leaving a business burned out and picking up freelance work as a stop gap to finding her “real job”, our founder, Victoria found that being able to lend a little bit of time to businesses made a big impact to them, and gave her the freedom to choose what she did on a more fluid basis.

She loved it, and having always been more on the “roll your sleeves up and get stuck in” side of consulting, than the strategies, frameworks and decks that are leave behinds, Victoria loved getting into the detail of a business and seeing what makes them tick.

Victoria jokingly blames her dad being an engineer, she’s always loved understanding how things work, and then working on creative routes to get things working better.

As a hands on but generalist marketer, Victoria faced twofold challenges when it came to growing her freelance business - the massive imposter syndrome that comes with marketing as a job, but also with the deepening specialisms that make up marketing, she felt a bit lost to be able to provide the complete solutions some clients needed.

She said “Sure, I know what good and bad SEO look like, but can I keep up with all the updates? No thanks! So the idea of formalising the informal “here’s my friend that can do X, Y & Z” under a brand helped us look more legit, but also it made the “sales process” feel WAY more comfortable for a marketer.”

The upshot too has also been in helping thst continual sales process for freelancers which is the hardest juggle of all. Victoria said “the feedback we get is not only the great sense of community, but also that there’s someone looking out for you.

And finally, the name. Borne out of understanding a bit of family history, the women in our lives that were the backbone of helping husbands and children, that went on to be our grandparents and parents would have had it tough.

And they would have no opportunity to put their name above the door of their own business.

So, here we are, for Sarah Allmark. Victoria’s great grandmother, mother of 6 kids, mother who had to watch her children go to fight in the Second World War. Had to deal without the things that make your life easier that we have. This one’s for you. Your name above the door.
